Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Boiling Water
- 5 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 cups Milk scalded
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1. Mix cornmeal, salt, and boiling water in a bowl. Cover and let sit overnight in a warm place.
2. The next day, scald the milk and let it cool to lukewarm. Add the milk to the cornmeal mixture.
3. Stir in the flour and baking soda. Knead until smooth.
4. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Let the bread cool before slicing.
