Main Ingredients
- 4 cups cherries, pitted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries and half of the sugar. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and remaining sugar. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Spoon the cherry mixture evenly over the batter.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
