Cake Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter into two equal parts. Add the cocoa powder to one part and mix well.
  6. In the center of the prepared cake pan, pour 3 tablespoons of vanilla batter. Then, pour 3 tablespoons of chocolate batter on top of the vanilla batter. Continue alternating the batters until all the batter is used up.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
