  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
