  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
