Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
