Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk and sugar. Heat until warm.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a bit of milk to make a slurry. Add to the saucepan.
  3. Whisk constantly until the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and egg yolk. Mix well.
  5. Let it cool slightly before serving.
