  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Butter softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Beat until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
