Cake Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Topping Ingredients
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch cake pan.
In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the flour mixture and mix until well combined. Stir in the boiling water last. The batter will be thin.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Once the cake is cool, spread the caramel sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
