Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups Warm water
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. 2. Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Punch down the dough and divide it into one large ball for the body, one medium ball for the head, and four small balls for the legs. Shape a tiny ball for the tail.
  6. 6. Assemble the turtle on a baking sheet, attaching the head, legs, and tail to the body.
  7. 7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Let cool before serving.
