Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups golden syrup
  • 1 ¼ cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 lemon zest zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 pre-made shortcrust pastry

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pastry and line a tart tin.
  3. Mix golden syrup, breadcrumbs, lemon zest, and juice in a bowl.
  4. Pour mixture into the pastry shell.
  5. Brush the edges with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
