Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter unsalted
  • 1 cup Sugar granulated
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • ½ cup Chopped nuts optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. 4. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  5. 5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let them melt. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  6. 6. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts over the melted chocolate.
  7. 7. Let the toffee cool completely, then break into pieces.
