Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 Eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ cup Milk warmed

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until thick and pale.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together. Gradually fold into the egg mixture.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and warm milk, folding gently to combine.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
