Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the milk and mix until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
