Southern Fried Chicken Gizzards Recipe

- 1 lb chicken gizzards
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
1. Clean the chicken gizzards thoroughly.
2. Soak the gizzards in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
3. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
5. Dredge the gizzards in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
6. Fry the gizzards in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
