  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
