Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Molasses
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
