Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs round steak cut into serving pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour divided
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large onion sliced
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Season the steak with salt and pepper. Dredge in ½ cup of flour, shaking off excess.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the steak on both sides. Remove and set aside.
Add onions to the skillet and cook until softened. Stir in remaining flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until gravy thickens.
Return steak to the skillet, spooning some gravy over the top. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until tender.
