  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
