Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cold water
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cold water, egg, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Dip the shrimp into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  4. Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with dipping sauce.
