Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter.
  6. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
