Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 units Egg whites
  • ¼ teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • ½ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Combine sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar, and water in the top of a double boiler.
  2. Beat with a hand mixer for 1 minute.
  3. Place over boiling water, making sure the boiling water does not touch the bottom of the top pan.
  4. Beat constantly on high speed for 7 minutes until stiff peaks form.
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Beat for 2 more minutes until thick enough to spread.
