Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
