Ingredients 

Cake

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter cold and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Saskatoon berries

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Press half of the crumb mixture into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth. Spread over the crumb layer in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle the Saskatoon berries over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Top with the remaining crumb mixture.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Let cool before serving.
