Ingredients

  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 lb Confectioners' Sugar sifted
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the corn syrup and shortening until smooth.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. When the mixture becomes too stiff to stir, knead it with your hands until smooth.
  5. If the fondant is too sticky, add more confectioners' sugar, a little at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency.
  6. Wrap the fondant in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before using.
