- ½ cup rice uncooked
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Rinse the rice under cold water.
In a saucepan, combine rice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture thickens, about 30 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
