Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Ribeye Steaks about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs Thyme

Instructions 

  1. 1. Take the steaks out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Preheat your cast iron skillet over high heat until it's smoking hot.
  3. 3. Rub the steaks with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. 4. Place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. 5. Add garlic and thyme to the skillet, then transfer it to the oven and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare.
  6. 6. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
