Ingredients

  • 3 Green Plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil for frying
  • to taste Salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Fry the plantain slices for about 3 minutes on each side until they are golden.
  3. 3. Remove the plantains from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.
  4. 4. Flatten each plantain slice using the bottom of a glass or a tostonera.
  5. 5. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again for about 2 minutes on each side until crispy.
  6. 6. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and season with salt to taste.
