Pretzel Bites Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup baking soda
- 1 large egg beaten
- to taste coarse salt
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
3. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
4. Divide dough into small pieces and roll into balls.
5. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Drop pretzel bites into the boiling water for about 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on the baking sheet.
6. Brush pretzel bites with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
