Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 4 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves

Instructions 

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once the mixture begins to boil, add butter and vanilla extract. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 235°F (soft ball stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in pecan halves. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Quickly drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Let cool completely.
