Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 piece Porterhouse Steak (about 1.5 inches thick)
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic (smashed)
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. 2. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot.
  3. 3. Rub the steak with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. 4. Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. 5. Add garlic, thyme, and butter to the skillet. Baste the steak with the melted butter.
  6. 6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  7. 7. Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
