Instructions 

  1. Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Add vinegar and a pinch of salt to the water.
  3. Crack the egg into a small bowl.
  4. Gently slide the egg into the simmering water.
  5. Cook for about 3 minutes, until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny.
  6. Remove the egg with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
