  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 plums halved and pitted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, and eggs. Beat well.
  4. Spoon the batter into a 9-inch springform pan.
  5. Place the plum halves skin side up on top of the batter.
  6. Sprinkle with lemon juice and cinnamon.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool before serving.
