Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a baking sheet inside to heat up.
  6. 6. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten into a circle about ¼ inch thick.
  7. 7. Place the dough circles onto the hot baking sheet and bake for 3-4 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
  8. 8. Remove from the oven and cover with a clean kitchen towel to keep them soft.
