Pierogi Polish Dumplings Recipe
Traditional Polish dumplings filled with a variety of fillings, perfect for any occasion.

Dough
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Warm water
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Filling
- 2 cups Mashed potatoes
- 1 cup Cheese (cheddar or farmer's cheese)
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- to taste Salt and pepper
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add warm water and vegetable oil. Mix until dough forms.
2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
3. For the filling, sauté onions in butter until golden. Mix with mashed potatoes and cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Roll out the dough to ⅛ inch thickness. Cut into circles using a glass or cookie cutter.
5. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
6. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook pierogi in batches until they float, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.
7. Optional: Fry boiled pierogi in butter until golden brown before serving.
