Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together honey, molasses, and butter until smooth. Add the egg and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until cookies are firm and slightly cracked on top.
  7. Let cookies cool on a wire rack, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
