Ingredients 

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Sauce

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into a greased pie pan.
  7. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  9. Pour chocolate sauce over the batter in the pie pan.
  10. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Let cool before serving.
