Cake Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Sauce
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
Pour batter into a greased pie pan.
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Pour chocolate sauce over the batter in the pie pan.
Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool before serving.
