Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg yolk

Filling

  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 large eggs beaten
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Let cool.
  4. In another bowl, mix corn syrup, brown sugar, beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in pecan halves.
  5. Pour the filling into the cooled crust. Bake for 35 minutes or until set. Let cool before serving.
