Ingredients

  • 4 cups Pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Instructions 

  1. 1. Combine pears, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a large saucepan.
  2. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until pears are soft, about 30 minutes.
  3. 3. Use a blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  4. 4. Return the mixture to the saucepan, add lemon juice, and simmer over low heat until thickened, about 1.5 hours.
  5. 5. Let cool and store in jars.
