Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs oxtails
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoon flour for thickening
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Season oxtails with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown oxtails on all sides.
  3. 3. Remove oxtails and set aside. In the same pot, add onions and garlic, sauté until softened.
  4. 4. Stir in tomato paste, thyme, and flour. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. 5. Add beef broth and red wine, bring to a boil.
  6. 6. Return oxtails to the pot. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 3 hours or until meat is tender.
  7. 7. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving.
