  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 sheets Nori (seaweed) cut into strips
  • 1 cup Filling of choice (e.g., tuna, salmon, pickled plum)

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. Cook the rice in a rice cooker with the water.
  3. 3. Once cooked, let the rice cool slightly.
  4. 4. Wet your hands with water and sprinkle with salt to prevent sticking.
  5. 5. Take a handful of rice and form it into a ball or triangle shape.
  6. 6. Make a small indentation in the center and add your filling.
  7. 7. Cover the filling with more rice and reshape.
  8. 8. Wrap a strip of nori around the rice ball.
  9. 9. Repeat with the remaining rice and filling.
