  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine molasses and boiling water. Stir well.
  3. Add sugar, flour, baking soda, ginger, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in vegetable oil and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool before serving.
