- 250 g plain flour
- 125 g cold butter, diced
- 50 g icing sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoon cold water
Filling
- 300 g mincemeat
- 1 orange, zested
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) / 400°F / Gas mark 6.
In a mixing bowl, rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the icing sugar, then add the egg yolk and water. Mix to form a dough.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out circles to fit a muffin tin.
Press the dough circles into the muffin tin and fill with mincemeat mixed with orange zest.
Cut out smaller circles or stars for the tops and place them on the pies.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
