Ingredients

  • 4 Egg whites at room temperature
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  5. Spoon or pipe the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 60 minutes, then turn off the oven and let the meringues cool in the oven for at least an hour.
