Ingredients 

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup Olive oil
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cloves

Honey Syrup

  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Chopped walnuts for garnish

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil and sugar. Mix well.
  3. Add orange juice and baking soda. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add flour, cinnamon, and cloves. Knead until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape dough into small oval cookies. Place on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While cookies are baking, prepare the syrup. In a saucepan, combine honey, water, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove cookies from oven and immediately dip them into the hot syrup. Let them soak for a few seconds, then place on a wire rack to cool.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts before serving.
