Maple Pecan Tart Recipe

Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into pieces
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoon ice water

Filling

  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg yolk and ice water, mix until dough comes together. Press into tart pan.
  3. Bake crust for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir in pecans.
  5. Pour filling into cooled crust. Bake for 30 minutes or until set.
  6. Let tart cool completely before serving.
