Ingredients 

Base

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter cold and cubed

Filling

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour filling over the baked crust. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until set.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
