Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 2 cups pitted dates
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, semolina, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until dough forms.
  4. For the filling, blend dates, butter, and cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Take a small piece of dough, flatten it, and place a teaspoon of filling in the center. Fold the dough over and shape into a ball.
  6. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
