Kumquat Tart Recipe
A delightful tart featuring the unique flavor of kumquats.

Crust
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 unit egg yolk
Filling
- 1 cup kumquats sliced thin
- 0.75 cup sugar
- 3 units eggs
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. Press into the bottom and sides of a tart pan.
Bake the crust for 15 minutes. Let it cool.
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, cream, and vanilla extract. Pour over the cooled crust.
Arrange the sliced kumquats on top of the filling.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the filling is set. Let it cool before serving.
