Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup basmati rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 10-12 almonds, chopped
  • 10-12 cashews, chopped
  • 10-12 pistachios, chopped
  • 10-12 raisins
  • A pinch saffron strands (optional)

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pot, bring the milk to a boil.
  3. Add the rice and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. When the rice is half-cooked, add sugar and cardamom powder.
  5. Continue cooking until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture thickens.
  6. Add the chopped nuts, raisins, and saffron strands.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  8. Serve warm or chilled.
