Main Ingredients
- ½ cup basmati rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
- 10-12 almonds, chopped
- 10-12 cashews, chopped
- 10-12 pistachios, chopped
- 10-12 raisins
- A pinch saffron strands (optional)
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
In a heavy-bottomed pot, bring the milk to a boil.
Add the rice and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally.
When the rice is half-cooked, add sugar and cardamom powder.
Continue cooking until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture thickens.
Add the chopped nuts, raisins, and saffron strands.
Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
Serve warm or chilled.
